After 20+ years in sales I have decided to give the pen a try in this digital forum. Life and work have given me incredible insights and I want to take the time to share them so please note that this blog won’t simply be a set of steps to help you launch your career in sales. Rather this blog will draw upon my life experiences, and in many cases how they parallel to those tangible elements of my professional selling and leadership roles. This is my opportunity to give back, so please take the ideas and references that are valuable.
Early in my life I learned to cook from great people in the food service industry and ever since those foundational years I have always been a cooking enthusiast. My time in the kitchen with family and friends always allows me to explore my creative side, and I thoroughly enjoy looking through the fridge and cabinets to see what I might combine in the effort to create a meal. There will be parts of this blog that serve as my creative outlet for sharing thoughts about cooking. Perhaps you’ll catch a recipe that interests you.
My family inspires me. As a husband and father, I want to be perfect, but that just won’t happen. Instead, I use every mistake, and there are plenty, to learn and build a stronger bond with the people I love. Family dinners have always been important because they allow us to savor the moment of being together. I never believed that kids grow up too fast, but as I watch each year unfold, I am constantly reminded that my boys are growing up. This site will allow me to share wisdom of being a husband and parent.
All the best,
Rod
